Grinder Helper

Shifts & Pay Rates:

• 1st shift (6am-4:30pm) 2nd shift(4:30pm-3:30am) with OT & some Saturdays required
• Pay: $16.00 – $17.00 / hour

Job Summary

We are hiring a Grinder Helper to support our grinding and fabrication shop with material handling, basic surface prep, and tool setup. This role requires hands-on shop floor experience—candidates must have practical experience working in a real production environment beyond classroom or trade school training.

Key Responsibilities

• Prep & Deburring: Perform basic grinding, deburring, wire brushing, and slag removal on steel parts.
• Material Handling: Move, load, and stage heavy metal components using overhead cranes, forklifts, or carts.
• Setup & Cleanup: Stage grinding tools for operators and keep work areas clean and hazard-free.
• Safety & Quality: Visually inspect parts for rough edges and follow all shop safety standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6+ months of hands-on experience in a metal shop, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
• Prior practical experience using hand angle grinders and basic shop power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for full shifts.
• Reliable transportation, solid attendance, and a strong work ethic.
