Canine Hydro Therapist

K9 Hydrotherapy was created in 2006 to provide professional and certified rehabilitation, health, and wellness care for dogs in an affordable, dedicated, and convenient manner.

We have an exciting position available for a trainee Canine Hydrotherapist at our busy health center, located in the Heights of Houston. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking person to join our professional, friendly, and dynamic team. The ideal candidate needs to be self-motivated with a positive ‘can-do' attitude, have great observational skills, and attention to detail. Licensed or experienced in Veterinary Care would be advantageous, but not essential, as full training will be provided.

This position may be flexible with days and hours worked.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Interacting with all breeds of dogs in a positive and welcoming manner.
  • Providing a high level of Customer Care to our Clients.
  • Assisting Qualified Hydro therapists with treatments in the hydrotherapy Pool, Spa and Physio water treadmill.
  • Administration: updating notes and records
  • High level of cleaning, bacterial control, refreshing stock etc.
  • General Marketing and attending trade events.
  • Assist with other tasks as needed.

The ideal person would have the following characteristics:

  • Must be passionate about working with dogs and be comfortable with handling all breeds.
  • A self-starter that will take the initiative to accomplish tasks at hand
  • Must be physically fit to transfer dogs to and from the pool and spa.
  • Must be confident in water
  • Ability to multitask and willingness to learn.
  • Comfortable with using computers.

Must be flexiable and dedicated. All our dogs are treated in a positive manner and we require a team player with a positive attitude and a good sense of humour

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of dog handling experience
  • Education: High school or equivalent. Veterinary qualifications an advantage.
  • This position may lead to formal training in a Level Three qualification in small animal rehabilitation.

Rates of pay are negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
