Project Manager

Interview: 2nd round will be f2f Hybrid: Houston, TX (need local) Visa: All except h1b Oil and gas exp. (preferred) At minimum they need heavy experience with upstream oil and gas systems within accounting. Preferably revenue accounting systems.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in Revenue Accounting and Information Systems to drive the development and enhancement of accounting and financial systems. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with finance, IT, and product development teams to implement scalable solutions that support revenue recognition, compliance, and reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

• Lead end-to-end project lifecycle from requirements gathering, planning, execution, and deployment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, risks, and communication across teams.
• Implement best practices in Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies based on project needs.

Product Management:

• Own and drive the roadmap for revenue accounting and financial IS applications.
• Partner with finance, accounting, and IT teams to enhance revenue recognition, billing, and reporting processes.
• Work with developers and technical teams to ensure system enhancements align with accounting policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., ASC 606, IFRS 15).
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies or system upgrades to optimize financial operations.

Revenue Accounting & IS Expertise:

• Ensure financial systems accurately support revenue recognition, invoicing, and reconciliation processes.
• Work with accounting teams to improve automation in revenue and reporting workflows.
• Support SOX compliance and audit requirements related to revenue systems.
• Coordinate data integrations between ERP, CRM, billing, and reporting platforms.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Project/Product Management with a focus on financial or accounting systems.
• Strong understanding of revenue accounting principles (GAAP, ASC 606, IFRS 15).
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, etc.) and financial reporting tools.
• Hands-on experience managing financial system implementations, integrations, or upgrades.
• Knowledge of SQL, data analysis, and reporting tools is a plus.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
• PMP, CSM, or Agile certification is a plus.
