The Field Service Technician installs, commissions, maintains, and repairs complex packaging machinery at customer facilities while also supporting testing and maintenance activities at the company's manufacturing site. This role focuses heavily on mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting, including Allen-Bradley/Rockwell programming, to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. The technician travels extensively, partners closely with customers, and provides hands-on training to help them operate and maintain their equipment.
This role involves traveling up to 100% of the time, primarily within the United States and occasionally to Canada, with most trips ranging from 5 to 10 days, and some assignments lasting from 23 days up to approximately 3 weeks. When not traveling, the technician works at a large manufacturing facility equipped with automated packaging machinery in a very clean environment. All work-related travel expenses, including flights, car rentals, and per diem for meals, are covered, and a company credit card and travel specialist support are provided. Mileage reimbursement is available for those who choose to use a personal vehicle. An internal travel system provides visibility into upcoming assignments months in advance, helping technicians plan their schedules while working in a highly technical, field-based environment.
