Consulting Manager (ADMS/DERMS/OT)

Description:

Black & Veatch Corporation is an employee‑owned company building sustainable infrastructure. We invite professionals to join Infrastructure Advisory as a Manager – Consulting focusing on ADMS‑OMS implementation and related utility OT projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client engagement for complex, transformational programs in advanced distribution infrastructure.
  • Lead development of business and technical strategy, business case, and implementation plan for ADMS implementation.
  • Lead client interviews and facilitate engagement to understand ADMS functions, architecture, and infrastructure.
  • Document and discover current and future state business processes with clients.
  • Provide functional and technical expertise in Digital Grid, Operational Technology, and ADMS/DERMS.
  • Develop solution concepts, review vendor design documents, track requirements traceability.
  • Support business requirements definition, proposal development, and proposal evaluation.
  • Support vendor contract negotiation and selection process.
  • Lead or participate in system testing and project planning.
  • Mentor peers and build team capabilities.
  • Communicate effectively, manage meetings, and produce professional‑quality work products.
  • Advocate change solutions and navigate challenges while balancing scope, schedule, resources, and quality.
  • Contribute as a subject matter expert to business development and thought leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of business & technology consulting, relevant product management, or OT vendor implementation experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of electric utility operations functions and associated processes.
  • Hands‑on experience with ADMS or other OT solutions and participation in at least two ADMS projects.
  • Familiarity with Grid Management & Modernization solutions (e.g., Grid Modernization Technologies, DERMS, AMI).
  • Master's degree in Information Technology or Engineering.
  • Experience with electric utility control systems operations or maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Utility IT transformation solutions such as EAM, WMS, CIS, ERP.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years in a business/consulting environment.
  • Applicant must be able to complete required pre‑employment onboarding (background checks, drug screening, motor‑vehicle records).

Work Environment / Physical Demands

  • Travel up to 50%, typical up to 25%.
  • After 90 days, hybrid or flexible work options may be offered based on performance.
