Maintenance Supervisor

Houston, Texas

A pediatric healthcare organization is seeking a dependable and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to support facility operations and Environment of Care initiatives within a hospital setting. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, compliant, and well-maintained environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in building maintenance, preventative maintenance programs, life safety systems, and healthcare facility operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance and Environment of Care department projects as assigned by leadership
  • Coordinate and manage project timelines, supplies, vendors, and contractors
  • Maintain project budgets and assist with cost control efforts
  • Participate in the department's weekend on-call rotation schedule
  • Ensure the facility and grounds remain safe, clean, and in good repair
  • Identify and immediately report unsafe conditions, hazardous situations, or defective equipment
  • Complete preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on facility equipment and systems
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, licensing standards, ADA guidelines, and safety regulations
  • Monitor and maintain critical facility systems including:
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Fire dampers
  • Fire doors
  • Water temperatures
  • Backflow inspections
  • Grease trap maintenance
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and emergency preparedness activities
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and preventative maintenance skills
  • Maintain knowledge of proper chemical usage and facility safety procedures
  • Support department staffing needs through scheduling flexibility
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related building maintenance experience required
  • Experience in plumbing, electrical, painting, and general building repairs preferred
  • Knowledge of building codes, licensing standards, life safety requirements, and ADA guidelines required
  • Previous healthcare or hospital maintenance experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and respond effectively in emergency situations
