Responsible for strategic oversight, process execution, and timely handoff of route output solutionsMust possess the ability to make critical business decisions related to identifying opportunities, resources, and prioritizing route optimization projects for a 1.1 billion dollar supply chain organizationConduct ongoing engineering and optimization of all market center service routes to improve efficiency and labor trends. This role will provide baseline performance data as well as projected outcome statisticsResponsible for involving and directing critical team members in the system data cleanup to ensure accurate engineered route outputAssists with the generation and publishing of delivery metrics as needed, including baseline and projected productivity metrics for handoff to the execution team for post-project implementationResponsible for being the recognized company expert on route engineering software as well as statistical route dataDevelop Route Engineering process guidance documentation (Standard Operating Procedures) and project timeline expectations for all ongoing and future projectsCollaborate with key area departments and Market Centers on ongoing route maintenance opportunities based on business changes related to growth/new business prospectsThis role is part of a broader strategic imperative to achieve operating efficiencies while improving customer service and delivery performance. As such, the Route Design Engineer will report and work directly with the Director, Route Solutions.Other Key Requirements for the Route Design EngineerStrategic team member with confidence and speed in executionAbility to analyze data and make decisions on prioritization of projectsAbility to solve complex problemsAbility to execute and engineer route solutions to meet business needsAbility to coordinate activity between all departments across multiple time zonesSound judgement and decision-making skillsMust possess a Continuous Improvement MindsetStrong understanding of route engineering strategiesStrong analytical skillsStrong systems knowledge/capability to manage and integrate operating dataStrong presentation and communication skillsQualificationsMinimum QualificationsBA/BS degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.4+ years' progressive experience in complex supply chain and logistics operations.Extensive knowledge of route optimization or the proficiency and aptitude to learn route modeling principles and techniquesProven operational and technical expertiseExcellent analytic and data skills in developing actionable KPIs and metrics around service and costAnalytical approach to problem solving and a passion for delivering service excellence to our customersExtreme proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPointBenefits: Vestis offers a wide array of comprehensive benefit programs and services including medical, dental, vision, short and long term disability, basic life insurance, and paid parental leave.
