Job Description

Summary: Under limited supervision, the individual is responsible for delivering site service operations for subsea equipment in compliance with design and operating procedures and customer requirements. This individual specializes in the assembly of subsea products and performs complex mechanical assembly operations, often to close tolerances, working from written and verbal instructions. Uses hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices and reviews service job requirements and coordinates equipment, etc. for assigned jobs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and lead in assembly of existing and newly developed subsea products to meet Trendsetter and Client requirements.
  • Preparation of layout for assembly operations
  • Perform assembly and/or testing of all subsea-related systems.
  • Perform FAT and SIT testing on subsea equipment.
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good condition.
  • Promote safety awareness and complies with all applicable safety procedures and regulations.
  • Undergo and maintain all training requirements.
  • Oversee installation of various equipment on and offsite
  • Operation of Trendsetter Engineering or customer equipment if necessary.
  • Perform light shop fabrication work.
  • Evaluate and interpret data during and after service activity.
  • Promote teamwork and take an active part in meeting customers service requirements.
  • Make general equipment repair decisions as needed for TEI shop equipment.
  • Travel to and perform service activities for onshore production or service work.
  • Inspect parts for damage and record traceability on work orders.
  • Construct and assemble and test subsea tooling and equipment per specified procedures and quality requirements.
  • Responsible for proper documentation of each step-in procedure performed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Maintain current knowledge of safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures.
  • Interact with Engineering on any assembly and/or test procedure when changes are required.
  • Can interact with 3rd party inspectors and customers relating to their products.
  • Undergo extensive safety training.
  • Show initiative and willingness to solve problems.
  • Ability to exhibit advanced knowledge of all hand/power tools used in TEI facility.
  • Ability to exhibit advanced knowledge of structural bolted connections.
  • Ability to show advanced knowledge of reading DWG's and schematics.
  • Ability to perform pneumatic torque operations.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic systems, and testing equipment up to 15,000 PSI
  • Ability to operate all TEI equipment, man lift, air compressor, generator, small and large forklift.
  • Ability to operate overhead crane and/or jib crane properly.
  • Strong knowledge of rigging techniques
  • Ability to load/unload all equipment in and out of the TEI facility.
  • Ability to use TEI router system.
  • Ability to use professionalism when working with other departments or customers.
  • Undergo company HSE policies and procedures training.
  • Share knowledge & best practice across the company.
  • Ability to plan and execute production or service work to meet customer deadlines.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

At least 5 years of experience in oil and gas field involving assembly and test of subsea oilfield products. Comprehensive practical knowledge of hydraulic systems to 15,000 psi operating pressure including: complex assembly, pressure testing and recording, hydraulic flushing and cleanliness testing, instrument tube and pipe fitting, systems operation, troubleshooting, fault finding and repair to component level (including pumps accumulators, regulators, relief valves, directional control valves, pressure switches and transmitters), and testing etc. Strong knowledge of engineering drawings including manufacturing, general arrangement, and hydraulic flow drawings. Strong mechanical knowledge including threads and thread forms, limits and fits, measuring units and conversions, basic math and mechanics, and properties of materials. Strong Knowledge of subsea systems and equipment and an appreciation of related subsea equipment (i.e., trees, chokes, templates, and manifolds). Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written. Ability to demonstrate strong decision-making skills, initiative and assertiveness, the ability to plan. Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills to motivate team members and uphold TEI safety and quality standards. Must be able to operate an overhead crane and/or jib cranes safely. Must be able to operate a forklift.
