Director of Benefits (Contract) – Hybrid | Houston, TX


Pay Rate: $80.50/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Location: Houston, TX 77024 (Hybrid)


Duration: Approximately 3 months with potential for permanent placement


The Reserves Network is partnering with a leading healthcare organization to identify an experienced Director of Benefits for a high-impact contract opportunity. This senior-level role will lead the strategy, administration, and optimization of enterprise-wide benefits programs in a large and complex healthcare environment.


The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in total rewards, benefits operations, vendor management, compliance, and strategic planning, with the ability to quickly assess current programs and implement meaningful improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and oversight of health, welfare, retirement, and wellness programs
  • Advise executive leadership on benefits structure, cost management, and program effectiveness
  • Manage vendor relationships, performance evaluations, and contract oversight
  • Lead complex RFP processes including vendor evaluation, negotiation, and implementation
  • Oversee annual enrollment activities including communications, system readiness, and execution
  • Conduct post-enrollment audits and reconciliations to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Collaborate with HR and cross-functional leaders to support total rewards initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable benefits regulations and policies
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies across benefits programs


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience managing employee benefits programs within large or complex organizations
  • Strong expertise in medical, dental, vision, retirement, and wellness programs
  • Experience leading annual enrollment cycles and benefits audits
  • Proven success managing benefits RFPs and vendor relationships
  • Strong understanding of benefits systems and technology platforms
  • Experience presenting to and advising senior leadership
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • CBP, CEBS, or similar certifications are a plus
