Service Technician Job ID: null Department: Pasadena - IND Location: null-null Description Summary: Electrical apparatus service technicians travel to different locations to inspect and repair power supply and power transmission components. Repair or regular maintenance duties begin with referring to schematics and performing visual inspections for basic problems, such as loose or damaged wiring. They then use diagnostic equipment, such as multimeters, signal generators and oscilloscopes, to measure currents and pinpoint malfunctions. Once identified, electrical lines can be spliced, and defective components can be repaired or replaced. Electrical field technicians specialize in types of systems, including commercial and industrial machines, transportation systems and power transmission systems for energy utility companies. Additional duties may include repairing circuit and relay boxes, power line insulation and watertight equipment seals.
