Shipping Lead

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Shipping Lead to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Shipping Department. This role is responsible for ensuring materials are accurately picked, packed, and shipped on time while maintaining a safe and organized working environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, PVF industry experience, and a proactive approach to team management and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily shipping operations and delegate tasks to department personnel (710 team members).
  • Ensure all equipment (forklifts, cranes, pickers, etc.) is in proper working condition.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with Sales, Receiving, Logistics, QC, and other departments.
  • Coordinate outbound shipments including flatbeds, motor freight, and small parcel (UPS) deliveries.
  • Handle picking tickets and prioritize orders based on sales requests and logistics.
  • Manage dock space and support efficient will-call loading.
  • Train and mentor team members on company procedures and safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate shipping documentation, including BOLs and product releases.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce Lock-Out/Tag-Out protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with company Quality Management System (QMS) and maintain high standards for cleanliness and organization.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the PVF industry or similar logistics/shipping environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and understand industry specifications, charts, and tables.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate various warehouse equipment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
