The Credit Analysis team plays a critical role in maintaining the strength and stability of the bank. Their primary responsibility is to evaluate new commercial and corporate loan requests, ensuring that every decision aligns with sound credit principles and the organization's risk appetite. This team conducts detailed financial analysis, assesses collateral, and applies risk rating methodologies to provide a clear, objective view of each opportunity. By doing so, they help balance growth with prudent risk managementprotecting the bank while enabling clients to achieve their goals. The team works closely with Relationship Managers and senior leadership, offering insights that guide strategic lending decisions. In short, they are the gatekeepers of credit quality, and their expertise directly impacts the health of our portfolio and the long-term success of the business.

Credit Analyst II takes on a broader scope of responsibility, underwriting moderately complex commercial loans with limited supervision. This role manages the full credit analysis process for new loan requests, including detailed financial statement review, credit bureau analysis, and preparation of underwriting narratives. Analysts also run industry-specific reports and review third-party valuations to support risk assessment. By delivering accurate and timely analysis, Credit Analyst II helps ensure that lending decisions align with both client needs and the bank's risk standards, playing a key role in maintaining credit quality and supporting business growth.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  1. Manage end-to-end underwriting workflow in Abrigo Sageworks for assigned deals.
  2. Conduct business and personal credit bureau searches and interpret results.
  3. Spread and analyze financial statements; adjust auto-spread outputs as needed.
  4. Complete underwriting analysis including cash flow, collateral, and narrative preparation.
  5. Run industry-specific reports (Vertical IQ or CoStar) for loan analysis.
  6. Document and resolve policy exceptions; communicate with Relationship Managers.
  7. Update risk rating scorecards based on modified terms or new information.
  8. Perform UCC searches and confirm lien positions.
  9. Pull environmental reports and add conditions when required.
  10. Review third-party business valuations and document compliance status.
  11. Compliance with any and all BSA/AML/CFT and Sanctions requirements set forth by Bank Policy and Procedure, including but not limited to timely completion of assigned training.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is not responsible for the supervision of staff.

Minimum Requirements

These specifications are guidelines based on the minimum experience required to perform the essential functions of the job. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
  • 24 years in credit analysis or commercial underwriting.
  • Solid understanding of credit risk assessment and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in Abrigo Sageworks and integrated tools (FICO SBSS, Equifax).
  • Ability to interpret industry reports and apply findings to underwriting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management and prioritization.
  • Clear written and verbal communication for credit narratives.
