About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Lending & Investment Officer (CLIO) to lead its lending strategies and manage a complex loan portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and meeting annual lending goals, overseeing the entire loan lifecycle, and identifying opportunities to design and implement new lending products. The CLIO will also be involved in strategic leadership, capital raising, and deployment, as well as risk management and compliance. A key aspect of the role is to act as a thought partner with the executive team, contribute to decision-making at a high level, and ensure that the organization's lending activities align with its mission and strategic goals.
Applicants for the CLIO position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' of senior management experience in community development finance, investment management, banking, or financial services, with a strong background in community investment and nonprofit lending. The role requires a deep understanding of Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), federal regulatory guidelines, and compliance management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in capital raising, excellent relationship management skills, and the ability to represent the organization at industry events. A commitment to the mission of rural and Indigenous community development, as well as experience in mentoring and coaching team members, is highly valued. A degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is a plus, and proficiency in relevant software and technology is expected.
