Youll join a collaborative, mission-driven team of internationally recognized experts and innovators working together to bring advanced nuclear energy to the world.The RoleThe AI Data Analyst supports the development and operation of AI applications by organizing, preparing, and maintaining data assets, contributing to the design and documentation of data flows, and delivering analysis and analytics that inform product and business decisions.This mid-level individual contributor role is designed for someone with hands-on data experience who is ready to take meaningful ownership in a technically dynamic, mission-driven startup environment.The role focuses exclusively on non-safety, non-critical data and AI applications and does not touch nuclear safety systems, NQA-1 controlled processes, or regulatory submissions.You will work closely with AI engineers and operational stakeholders to ensure that data used in AI applications is well-organized, understood, traceable, and fit for purpose.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform exploratory data analysis on internal datasets to surface insights, trends, and anomalies relevant to AI application development and business operations.Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that communicate data findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Define and track data quality metrics across AI-related datasets and drive resolution of identified data quality issues.Proactively identify gaps, inconsistencies, or coverage limitations in data used for AI development and recommend corrective actions.Respond to ad hoc data and analytics requests from internal teams.Collaborate with AI engineers and application owners to understand how data moves through AI systems, from source to consumption.Lead functional documentation of data flows, including sources, transformations, outputs, and dependencies, and maintain that documentation as systems evolve.Drive requirements discussions to define and articulate data needs for new or evolving AI applications.Identify and flag upstream data issues that may affect AI application inputs or outputs.Own and maintain an inventory of data assets used in or supporting AI applications, including metadata, ownership, and usage context.Establish and enforce consistent naming conventions, classification, and tagging of data assets; ensure data assets reflect approved processes and authoritative sources.Track data provenance and lineage to support reproducibility and internal review and manage the lifecycle of datasets, including retiring outdated or superseded data.Own organized records of data assets, data dictionaries, and analysis outputs in shared repositories.Lead the development and upkeep of internal documentation related to data standards, definitions, and usage guidance.Compile and maintain documentation needed for internal reviews or assessments related to AI applications.Design and implement lightweight, scalable data governance practices appropriate for an early-stage organization.What You Bring35 years of experience in a data analyst or related role, with demonstrated ownership of data assets, reporting, and data quality processes.Bachelors degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; an advanced degree is a plus.Proficiency with SQL and at least one scripting language (Python preferred) for data querying, transformation, and analysis.Experience building and maintaining dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Power BI, Looker, or Tableau.Strong written communication skills with a track record of documenting processes, data definitions, or analytical findings for varied audiences.Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.CertificationsNo specific certifications are required for this role; relevant analytics, BI, or cloud certifications are a plus but not mandatory.CitizenshipNo specific citizenship requirements are defined in the initial role description; any future regulatory or export-control related requirements would be communicated during the hiring process.Even BetterExperience with data flow documentation, ETL logic, or data pipeline design at a functional level.Familiarity with AI or machine learning workflows, including how data quality affects model inputs and outputs.Experience establishing or improving data governance practices in a growing organization.Interest in the nuclear energy or broader clean energy sector.Prior experience at a startup or early-stage company, especially in roles that required building processes from scratch.Why Work for UsCompetitive salary.Flexible hours & remote options.Health/Life/Disability benefits.Vacation/Sick leave.Work alongside internationally recognized experts shaping the future of nuclear energy.EEO StatementZettaJoule is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
