A well-established Houston-based real estate company is seeking an experienced real estate attorney to serve as a key legal partner to a small, high-performing in-house team. This role offers direct access to senior leadership and meaningful scope across a broad range of transactional and development matters.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and financings, while drafting and negotiating key agreements (e.g., purchase and sale, development, easements)
• Provide business-oriented legal guidance on transaction structure, risk allocation, and execution, including identifying and mitigating risks related to timelines, approvals, and obligations
• Support land development activities (entitlements, zoning, platting, infrastructure) and advise on regulatory requirements, coordinating with municipalities and governmental authorities
• Partner cross-functionally with acquisitions, development, construction, and finance teams to deliver timely legal support
• Manage outside counsel and oversee standard forms, templates, and legal process improvements

What We're Looking For

• J.D. from an accredited law school; Texas bar admission required
• 5+ years of real estate law experience, including land acquisition and disposition, land development and entitlements, and commercial and residential transactions
• Combination of law firm and in‑house experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex transactions in a fast‑moving environment
