Are you a commercially-minded professional with a background in aviation leasing or law? A premier global aircraft leasing firm is seeking an Assistant Vice President (AVP) to join their legal team.
This is a high-visibility role reporting to an SVP, offering direct exposureto the world's most innovative aircraft manufacturers, global airlines, and top-tier law firms. You will play a pivotal part in delivering commercial strategy by project managing and negotiating complex aviation transactions.
The Role
As an AVP within the legal function, you will be at the heart of the deal cycle, from LOI through to closing and post-delivery management. Your remit will cover a broad range of transactions, including leasing, trading, restructuring, and capital markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deal Leadership: Lead and participate in commercial negotiations with airlines, investors, and OEMs.
- Project Management: Oversee aircraft deliveries and transaction closings to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as a primary contact for global airline customers and external legal counsel.
- Transaction Structuring: Work within multi-disciplinary "Deal Teams" to structure cross-border aviation financing products.
- Risk & Compliance: Implement risk management frameworks through precise documentation and attention to detail.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate input from legal, tax, and accounting advisors to ensure smooth execution in diverse global jurisdictions.
Who You Are
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and possesses the following:
- Experience: 1+ years in a commercial environment, specifically within aviation leasing/finance or a legal setting.
- Industry Knowledge: A background in a professional advisory capacity or with a lessor/financier is a distinct advantage.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is essential.
