Electrical & Controls Assembly Technician

Our client, a leader in industrial manufacturing and energy solutions, is seeking a dedicated Electrical & Controls Assembly Technician to join their dynamic team. As an Electrical & Controls Assembly Technician, you will be an integral part of the manufacturing support team, contributing to the assembly and wiring of critical electrical systems for gas turbines and compressor packages. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety and quality, which will align successfully within the organization.

Location: Houston, TX

Pay Range: $35hr

Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM

What's the Job?

  • Interpret and apply electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings (English and metric).
  • Assemble, wire, test, and troubleshoot electrical equipment, including control panels, conduit systems, cable trays, and wire terminations.
  • Perform electrical work on rotating equipment packages, such as gas turbines and compressors.
  • Identify, understand, and work with components like Motor Control Centers (MCCs), Fire & Gas systems, Generator control systems, and Vibration monitoring instrumentation.
  • Follow National Electrical Code (NEC), International Electrical Code (IEC), and related standards for hazardous and intrinsically safe areas.

What's Needed?

  • High School Diploma or GED, or 10+ years of relevant industrial electrician experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical assembly, wiring of control panels, or rotating equipment manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Proficiency with wire sizes from 18 AWG up to 1/0 AWG.
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
