Our clients include large health systems and academic institutions that rely on DirectBids to manage the end-of-life cycle of capital equipment and other surplus assets.


Role Overview


DirectBids is seeking a Field Sales Representative to drive revenue by building relationships and identifying equipment and assets within organizations that can be sold through our auctions.


The right candidate is comfortable working both with leadership and operational teams, including warehouse environments and equipment storage facilities.


Success in this role requires being highly active in the field, following up consistently, and creating momentum within large organizations.


Key Responsibilities


New Business & Territory Development

  • Prospect and engage hospitals, universities, and public-sector organizations
  • Engage prospects through in-person and remote outreach, with emphasis on on-site visits
  • Generate new client opportunities and support onboarding


Account Growth

  • Expand activity within existing accounts by identifying new departments and asset sources
  • Build relationships with facilities, supply chain, biomedical, and administrative teams
  • Increase volume of assets flowing through DirectBids


Asset Discovery

  • Conduct on-site walkthroughs to identify surplus equipment
  • Qualify and document inventory for auction
  • Partner with internal teams to move opportunities to auction


Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as a primary point of contact within assigned accounts
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution
  • Maintain strong, long-term client relationships


Ideal Background

3–7+ years in a field-based, relationship-driven role such as:

  • Equipment or industrial sales
  • Auction, liquidation, or asset remarketing
  • Facilities, warehouse, or supply chain operations
  • Equipment resale or refurbishment

Experience with hospitals, universities, or public-sector organizations is a plus.

Compensation

  • Base salary: $65,000 – $75,000
  • On-target earnings $100,000 – $125,000+ (uncapped) based on revenue generated from sourced and assigned accounts
  • Health benefits with employer contribution.
  • Paid time off + holidays.


Travel & Work Environment

  • This is a non-remote, field-based role
  • Work is split between our Houston distribution center and on-site client visits
  • Majority of time is expected to be spent in the field
  • Travel is primarily within the Houston area and surrounding regions, typically as day trips, with occasional overnight travel required.
