Staff Engineer 2 for Western Alliance Bank – Phoenix, AZ Job Description: Technical expert who will work with various business teams to understand requirements and coordinate with technology teams to design solutions and deliverables under Corporate Systems segment in accordance with the strategic needs of Western Alliance Bank. As part of the team that serves as the technical owners of the platform, you will be expected to put in policies and governance to maintain application sustainability and availability. Develop and enhance solutions using existing platforms or assess the need for a new platform. Create and implement elegantly coded and effectively tuned solutions that enable high performance and ease of maintenance. Optimize queries and reports utilized within the platform. Build, maintain, and extend data models, design documents, and project plans. Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to gain a working understanding of business requirements and operational processes. Support the investigation and troubleshooting of complex business issues. Position allows for 1 day remote per week and reports to company office in Phoenix, AZ. Job Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience is required (7 years with a Bachelor's or 5 years with a Master's). Must have some experience in each of the following skills: Implementing COTS solutions for banks; Creating controls and documentation including technical specifications, estimation documents, and architectural documents; Programming language, including Python, Perl, or Java; Design tools, including Visio and Lucidchart; Azure DevOps, Jira, Git, and DevOps tools; ETL concepts and large volume data handling between systems; Mathematical calculations to summarize and aggregate large volumes of data; BI/Reporting tools, including Tableau, PowerBI or MicroStrategy.
