Description:

Welder – Rotating Equipment (Gas Turbine/Compressor) Pay Rate: $30.00+/hour (based on experience) Travel: Up to 15% Schedule: Full-time (shift may vary; overtime and weekends as needed) Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Welder with strong stainless steel pipe welding and mechanical assembly expertise to support rotating equipment manufacturing. This role focuses on fitting, tacking, and welding components for gas turbines and compressor packages while maintaining high quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Fit, tack, and weld components according to detailed drawings and welding standards Perform GTAW (TIG) pipe welding and pass required certification (GTAW P8 6G) Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical assembly instructions Assemble, repair, install, and maintain mechanical components for gas turbines and compressors Perform equipment setup, alignment, and parts installation Inspect welds and finished assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications Maintain welding certifications and follow ASME B31.3 Process Piping Code requirements Safely operate welding machines, cutting rigs, and measuring tools Support inventory, staging, and inspection of incoming parts Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Control, and Production teams Maintain accurate documentation, including shop orders and time tracking Follow all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies and maintain a clean workspace Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required (or 10+ years of relevant stainless steel pipe welding experience) Minimum 5+ years of welding and manufacturing experience in a shop environment Experience with assembly of rotating equipment strongly preferred Knowledge of gas turbine mechanical work and overhaul is a plus Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and low-alloy materials Ability to interpret complex drawings, specs, and tolerances Strong troubleshooting and fabrication skills Effective communication and teamwork abilities Preferred Experience: Experience with turbomachinery assembly, particularly compressor systems Familiarity with advanced build methods and sequencing of compressor internals and auxiliaries Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 40 lbs Capable of performing hands-on mechanical and welding tasks Additional Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship Must be able to meet welding certification requirements COVID-19 vaccination required unless approved for exemption Why Apply?
