The Southeast Power Trader will actively manage buying/selling of power and related derivatives in the Southeastern U.S., optimizing portfolio value, managing risk, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.Duties and Responsibilities Monitor and analyze Real-Time and Day-Ahead power market dynamics, including supply-demand balance, price signals, and regulatory developments.Develop and execute short-term optimization strategies for physical and financial power positions to optimize profitability and cost.Execute trades across markets (e.g., day-ahead, intraday, balancing) using trading platforms and automated systems.Manage risk exposures: monitor positions, enforce risk limits, and implement mitigation strategies.Maintain detailed P&L tracking, activity reports, and trend analysis; present findings to internal stakeholders.Collaborate closely with counterparties, other desks (e.g., origination, credit, operations), and procurement teams.Provide mentorship or guidance to junior traders and support process optimization.Required Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or similar.Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in power trading, ideally within physical and short-term markets.Strong quantitative skills, familiarity with modeling and pricing analyticPreferred Qualification: Working knowledge of Southeast regional markets (e.g., regional ISOs, pipeline dynamics).Experience with trading software, intraday platforms, and automated execution tools.High stress tolerance, excellent decision-making, and communication skillLocation: Houston, Texas or RemoteHow to Apply To apply, Please email your CV and cover letter to recruitment@altopenergy.com or complete the form below.#J-18808-Ljbffr
