Field Sales Representative – Tube Fittings / Compression Fittings (Houston)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Field Sales Representative with experience specifically in tube fittings, compression fittings (double ferrule), instrumentation valves, or fluid system components. The role is focused on converting qualified leads and scheduled meetings into real business opportunities through strong on-ground engagement.

This is a high-activity, field-intensive role focused on converting face-to-face interactions into measurable business outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-frequency in-person customer visits across the Houston region to generate RFQs and build relationships
  • Convert company-provided leads into RFQs
  • Attend scheduled meetings and drive them toward commercial opportunities
  • Source your own prospects and independently secure meetings to generate new business opportunities
  • Identify, develop, and establish distributor partnerships across the Houston region
  • Visit OEMs and distributors across the Houston region
  • Identify new potential accounts within assigned territory
  • Maintain regular follow-ups to move prospects toward RFQ stage
  • Provide structured feedback from the market (pricing, competition, demand trends)
  • Participate in a weekly virtual review meeting to report progress, discuss pipeline, and align on support required


Required Experience

  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in selling tube fittings, compression fittings, or instrumentation valves
  • Direct experience in the fluid system / instrumentation industry is mandatory
  • Strong understanding of industrial B2B sales cycles, RFQ processes, and customer expectations
  • Proven experience in field sales involving regular customer visits and business development


Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)

  • Prior experience working with a tube fittings manufacturer or an authorized distributor
  • Experience in the sale of tube fittings, compression fittings, or related instrumentation component
  • Experience working with instrumentation fittings manufacturers or authorized distributors handling tube fittings, compression fittings, or fluid system components
  • Experience handling OEMs, EPCs, and industrial distributors in oil & gas, petrochemical, or process industries


Candidate Profile

  • Based in or around Houston, Texas
  • Comfortable with field sales and frequent local travel
  • Self-driven and outcome-oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to convert technical discussions into commercial opportunities
  • Existing relationships with OEMs, EPCs, or distributors in the Houston region preferred


Requirements

  • Must own a personal vehicle
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to travel locally on a regular basis


What You Will Be Expected to Do in First 60 Days

  • Conduct regular field visits across Houston (minimum 5–8 customer visits per week)
  • Generate initial RFQs from both company-provided leads and self-sourced prospects
  • Build a working pipeline of OEMs and distributors
  • Establish consistent follow-up rhythm to convert meetings into opportunities


Important Note

This role is not suitable for candidates from general industrial sales, construction, logistics, or oilfield services without direct experience in instrumentation fittings or fluid system components.
