Doka USA Ltd seeks a Project Procurement Manager NAR/LATAM (Tomball, TX) to determine and analyze project procurement requirements for engineered components and assemblies, including metal fabrication, sheet-metal parts, die-cast components, molded parts, wire harnesses, packaging materials, and mechanical/electrical assemblies for large scale (mainly infrastructure & high rise) often complex projects across North America and Latin America. Provide guidance to project teams on procurement strategies, supplier capabilities, cost structures, lead times, and technical requirements. Perform direct project supply-management activities including purchasing, subcontracting, expediting, material coordination, supplier document control, and logistics. Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers in North America and Latin America for commodities such as heavy metal fabrication, sheet-metal fabrication, CNC machining, molding, die casting, and packaging. Conduct RFP/RFQ processes, analyze supplier quotations, perform cost-breakdown and should-cost analyses, compare product quality and pricing, and recommend supplier selections. Negotiate pricing, contracts, commercial terms, stocking agreements, and cost-reduction initiatives with suppliers. Monitor supplier performance using KPIs such as on-time delivery, quality metrics, lead time, and cost performance; perform quarterly supplier reviews. Manage supplier change-control processes including ECNs, deviations, new-process requests, and documentation updates to reduce risk and maintain compliance. Support new product introduction activities by coordinating RFQs, reviewing BOMs and engineering drawings, and ensuring procurement readiness for new and existing part numbers. Coordinate with engineering, quality, operations, SQA, QC team, and global procurement managers to ensure alignment with project and business requirements. Assist with supply-chain optimization efforts, including inventory-management strategies, stocking plans, and lead-time reduction initiatives. Participate in supplier audits, supplier development, and global sourcing initiatives to identify new sourcing options and mitigate supply risk. Local telecommuting permitted up to 4 days per week. 20% domestic travel for trainings, supplier/stakeholder visits, and conferences; 10% international travel required.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Administrator Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of experience in project procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply management. Must have experience with: Managing project supply-management functions, including purchasing, subcontracting, expediting, material coordination, inspection coordination, vendor document control, logistics, and supply-management systems; Leading sourcing strategies and conducting RFP/RFQ processes for commodities including: Heavy metal fabrication, Sheet-metal fabrication, CNC turning and milling, Die casting, Molding, Packaging, and Mechanical/electromechanical assemblies; Negotiating supplier contracts, pricing, payment terms, stocking programs, and cost-reduction initiatives; Analyzing bills of material, engineering drawings, GD&T, and cost breakdowns to determine key technical and commercial requirements; Performing cost-analysis, should-cost modeling, and competitive benchmarking for global and regional suppliers; Working with engineering change processes including ECNs, deviations, APQP/FAI documentation, and new-product-introduction procurement requirements; Managing supplier-performance metrics including on-time delivery, quality, and lead-time performance, and supporting supplier-audit and development activities; Using ERP/MRP and analytical tools including SAP, Excel (including macros), Power BI, and project-tracking tools; and Working cross-functionally with procurement, engineering, quality, operations, and global commodity teams in deadline-driven environments.
