Program Overview

Work with CFEi ENERGY—where excellence, accountability, and teamwork drive real results.

CFE International (CFEi) is offering a 3-month, full-time Summer Fellowship designed to develop analytical talent for the energy trading industry. Fellows gain hands-on experience in transaction reconciliation, financial operations, and data analytics within a live natural gas trading environment.

In addition to core role experience, fellows will participate in cross-department learning opportunities, mentorship, and networking, providing exposure to multiple areas of the business and leadership team.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain and reconcile accounting records and transactions in compliance with IFRS and US GAAP
  • Support monthly close processes and prepare financial statements and reports
  • Analyze financial performance, including variance, trends, and key metrics
  • Develop financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support decision-making
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support audit and reporting requirements

Capstone Project

Lead a business-critical project focused on process improvement, automation, or reconciliation efficiency, and present results to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field

Open to:

  • Recent college graduates (must be graduated by May 30, 2026), or
  • Experienced professionals seeking to transition into energy or analytics-focused roles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities

Preferred Skills: Excel, financial systems, ERP tools, Spanish proficiency, interest in energy industry

Compensation

  • Competitive program stipend (3 months, paid semi-monthly)
  • Potential for full-time offer upon completion

Location & Work Environment

  • Location: Houston, TX (on-site)
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • During this program CFEi is closed for Holiday Observance on: 06/19 – Juneteenth and 07/03 – Independence Day (Observed)
  • Office is located in CityCentre, offering convenient access to dining, retail, and amenities
  • Parking is provided by the company

Interview Process:

  • May 12 - Pre-screening interview notification by email
  • May 13 - Pre-screening interviews will take place;

If selected as a potential candidate:

  • May 14 & 15 – You will be scheduled for one 30-minute interview with the hiring manager(s) and program director

Candidate Selection & Onboarding

  • May 18 – 19 Final candidate selections will be made. If you were selected as a 2026 Summer Fellow, you will be notified by May 19.
  • Pre-onboarding will begin by May 20 and should be complete by May 28.
