Portfolio Officer

We are currently seeking a Portfolio Officer who will be responsible for underwriting, credit monitoring, and portfolio management for the team. This position will also be responsible for retention and expansion of existing client relationships, analyze financial data to determine the merits of loan requests, recommend structure, as well as identify cross selling/refer opportunities of other deposit services.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and create financial loan write-ups to generate new loans
  • Assist in accurately risk rating loans/credits
  • Develop problem loan credit solutions
  • Work with credit analyst in reviewing existing credits
  • Manage relationships by analyzing financial data to determine the merits of specific loan requests, and recommend structure as well as aggressively managing the client relationship
  • Responsible for credit risk and quality of the portfolio
  • Assist with due diligence/analysis with new client relationships, opportunity memos as appropriate
  • Partner with the Business Relationship Manager as the point of contact for the client; acting as a liaison to the Credit Department, the Commercial support staff, and other internal business partners
  • Monitor loan repayment activities and financial condition of borrowing clients and take necessary action to collect past due accounts and ongoing repayment ability of all other accounts. May assume overall responsibility for the credit quality of the loan portfolio
  • Prepare presentations on specific loans and participate in the bank's Loan Approval Process, recommending approval and appropriate structure of credits
  • Manage the renewal process by working with the Business Relationship Manager, the client, and the credit department
  • Act as a contact manager for non-borrowing accounts and loan clients for matters relating to other banking services
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
  • 4+ years of banking experience with a minimum of 1-2 years of direct portfolio management experience
  • Demonstrates strong underwriting and projection skills
  • Strong understanding of credit policy and procedures; able to accurately risk-rate loans/credits, evaluates both cash-flow and collateral-based loans/credits
  • Develop problem loan credit solutions
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions within the Bank
  • Knowledge and understanding of banking products, market, and business trends
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

The base pay range for this position is USD $63,000.00/Yr. - USD $72,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
