Staff Accountant

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team at our Houston headquarters. This role is a good fit for someone who takes ownership of their work, stays organized under deadlines, and is comfortable being hands-on in a fast-paced environment.

You'll support core accounting functions and play an important role in delivering a smooth, accurate, and timely close process. We're looking for someone who follows through, pays attention to the details, and is willing to step up during busier periods to get the job done right.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes
  • Support preparation of financial statements and internal reporting
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions as needed
  • Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements
  • Identify and recommend process improvements for efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
  • 35 years of relevant accounting experience (required)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (required)
  • Required: Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop, preferred. QB Online acceptable
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Salary Range: $65,000 $80,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
