JOB SUMMARY This position exists to ensure consistent product quality through rigorous testing and analysis. The primary objective is to collect random samples from production batches and conduct comprehensive tests to measure physical characteristics using sophisticated instruments. This role fulfills the need for continuous quality control, ensuring that in-process and finished products meet established standards and contribute to the resolution of production-related issues. By adhering to established procedures and guidelines, this role safeguards product integrity and supports overall operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities • Follow all established safety rules and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. • Adhere to the company's Code of Conduct while performing duties with integrity. • Perform a wide variety of complex testing processes on production batches to measure product's physical or chemical characteristics, such as viscosity, weight per unit of measure, flow, gloss, and color characteristics, ensuring accurate assessment of product properties. • Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results. • Maintain records and charts for all products that are checked, ensuring thorough documentation of quality control activities. • Record and report observations or test results in the designated QC card or file, providing complete and legible data for analysis. • Collaborate with the QC manager, production staff, and development staff to evaluate and address production or field-related problems, contributing to problem-solving initiatives. • Help identify potential causes of complaints to improve product quality and prevent future issues. • Actively participate in 5S activities to maintain a clean and organized workspace. • Help sustain and improve organization in work areas to promote efficiency and productivity. • Perform area housekeeping responsibilities to maintain a clean and safe work environment. Required Qualifications • High school graduate or equivalent. • Ability to read labels and see details up close with or without corrective lenses (near vision). • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow safety instructions and safety guidelines. • Score of 32 or lower on a Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Color test. • Effective interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently. • Ability to multi-task and balance priorities. • Dedicated and committed safety leadership and presence. • Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment with exposure to chemical agents. • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time. • Ability to use equipment to perform duties of job safely and effectively (operation and control). • Knowledge of basic math including adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, fractions and measurements (mathematics). • Ability to watch gauges, dials, or display screens to ensure proper operation of equipment (operation monitoring). • Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel). Pr eferred Qualifications • 1-2 years technical or community college courses with emphasis on physical science and/or 3 or more years manufacturing experience in paint and coatings industry. Education: High School or equivalent
