Houston, TX (Hybrid Relocation Required) Full-Time | Senior Leadership

BPrep Services is seeking a seasoned Director of Benefits to lead the strategy, design, and execution of enterprise-wide benefits programs for a large, complex healthcare organization. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for shaping total rewards strategy, ensuring compliance, optimizing vendor relationships, and delivering competitive benefits programs that attract and retain top talent.

The Director of Benefits will:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and administration of all employee benefit programs
  • Oversee retirement, health & welfare, and wellness initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and regulatory requirements
  • Manage external vendors, consultants, and internal benefits teams
  • Partner with executive leadership to align Total Rewards with business strategy

Hybrid schedule

  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to Houston, TX
  • No travel required

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience managing benefits operations and program implementation
  • Healthcare industry experience REQUIRED
  • Proven experience with: health & welfare plans, retirement plans (401(k), 403(b), pension), plan design, evaluation, compliance, and implementation
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, healthcare reform laws
  • Experience working with HRIS systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, HR Management, or related field
  • Master's degree (preferred)
  • Professional certifications such as CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist), CBP (Certified Benefits Professional)

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement competitive, cost-effective benefits programs
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Lead and develop the Benefits team
  • Partner with HR and executive leadership on Total Rewards strategy
  • Manage vendor relationships, including consultants, brokers, and actuaries
  • Oversee benefits communications and employee engagement
  • Develop and track metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and ROI
  • Drive process improvements and system enhancements in collaboration with HRIS/ISD
  • Act as escalation point for complex benefits issues

  • Healthcare experience is non-negotiable
  • Candidates from industries such as oil & gas, manufacturing, or consulting-only backgrounds will not be considered
  • Candidates who have held this role with the client organization within the past 24 months are not eligible
