TITLE: Scheduling & Inventory Analyst

LOCATION: Houston, TX

TYPE: Contract (1 year)

RATE: $39.60 per hour, DOE

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Scheduling & Inventory Analyst to support the accuracy and integrity of product movement and inventory data within our ERP system (SAP S/4). This role plays a critical part in ensuring that scheduled transactions are accurately reflected in financial and operational records.

You will work cross-functionally with Scheduling, Trading, Accounting, and Trade Support teams to resolve discrepancies, analyze inventory activity, and support month-end close processes. This is a fast-paced, analytical role ideal for someone who thrives on problem-solving and data accuracy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure accurate recording of product movements and inventory transactions in SAP S/4 in alignment with accounting standards
  • Monitor and analyze inventory activity (builds/draws) using SAP reports throughout the month
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to product movements, system errors, and transaction mismatches
  • Support month-end close activities, including manual accruals and data validation
  • Partner with Scheduling, Trading, and Accounting teams to ensure trades and positions are accurately reflected in system records
  • Review and resolve complex discrepancy issues (DEW requests) escalated by internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Trade Support to troubleshoot nomination and inventory-related system issues
  • Prepare reports and summaries of reconciliation findings for management
  • Identify trends or recurring discrepancies and recommend process improvements
  • Serve as a backup reviewer for discrepancy workflows, as needed
  • Assist in developing more efficient and accurate scheduling and reconciliation processes

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar analytical, operations, or reconciliation role
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with SAP S/4, particularly with inventory or financial reporting
  • Background in oil & gas scheduling, trading, or operations
  • Strong understanding of inventory reconciliation or volumetric accounting
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with a team-oriented mindset and strong internal customer focus
