Healthcare Host/Hostess

Job Overview:

The Healthcare Host/Hostess is responsible for effectivelycommunicating with patients, staff and guests of the hospital to ensureaccuracy and timelines of patient meal trays and floor stock. Majorresponsibility includes delivering meal carts to patient units, aiding in themeal set-up at bedside, discarding of soiled trays, taking inventory of nourishmentarea, stocking the nourishment area and accurately operating technicalequipment. The Healthcare Host/Hostess will be responsible for sanitationactivities, including dishware, equipment cleaning and janitorial tasks. Inaddition, they will be responsible for cashiering in the cafeteria.

General Responsibilities:

ï‚• Delivers carts to the correctfloor or patient area.

ï‚• Serves trays to patients anddetermines if they need anything else.

ï‚• Assists customers with openingcontainers and cutting food when requested.

ï‚• Collects trays and placesgarbage and trash in designated containers.

ï‚• Records the amount and type ofspecial food items served to patients.

ï‚• Brews coffee and tea. May berequired to restock other beverage areas.

ï‚• Interacts with customers in theserving and dining areas.

ï‚• May take orders in an ExpresslyFor You (EFY) environment.

ï‚• May assemble and deliver patienttrays in an EFY environment.

ï‚• Replenish floor stock.

ï‚• Complies with all Sodexo HACCPpolicies and procedures.

ï‚• Attends all allergy andfoodborne illness in-service training.

ï‚• Attends training programs(classroom and virtual) as designated.

ï‚• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Experience/Knowledge:

ï‚• High School diploma, GED, orequivalent experience.

ï‚• 0 to 1 year related work experience.

Skills/Aptitude:

ï‚• Presents selfin a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty andethics are essential.

ï‚• Ability tomaintain a positive attitude.

ï‚• Ability tocommunicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism andrespect.

ï‚• Maintains aprofessional relationship with all coworkers, vendor representatives,supervisors, managers, customers, and client representatives.

ï‚• Ability to usea computer.

ï‚• Ability toprovide clear directions and respond to employees.

ï‚• Basic food-handling skills
