To provide armed protection and ensure the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors on school premises in accordance with Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) School Marshal Program standards and district policies.
High School Diploma or GED
Possess a valid driver's license and Firearm Owner's Identification Card.
Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) School Marshal Certification
Successfully pass a fingerprint criminal background investigation, physical fitness examination, drug/alcohol screening, mental health evaluation, and firearms proficiency exam required.
One to three years of experience in law enforcement, security, or a related field preferred.
Must meet all requirements of the Texas School Marshal Program under Texas Occupations Code 1701.
Coursework, training or prior licensure in law enforcement, public safety, security, or related discipline
Must be able to pass a background check for a firearm purchase.
Credentialed or certified in emergency management (AEM, CEM, TEM or similar) (preferred)
Ability to meet established deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively & ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Keen independent judgment.
Knowledge of school safety, security and/or law enforcement procedures, practices and related standards, codes, and laws
Knowledge of emergency management/emergency preparedness methodology and concepts
Skilled in use of relevant, security-related technology (e.g., security video systems, mass notification systems, visitor management systems, access control, etc.) (preferred)
Exceptional writing skills, particularly in the context of business communications, drafting policies, procedures, operational plans, training materials, fact-gathering, investigations and after-action reports
Exceptional communication, interpersonal and customer service/public relations skills.
Skilled in use of office/business technology (e.g., MS Office Suite, G-Suite, etc.)
Skilled in supervisory functions, methods, staffing and evaluation (preferred)

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Administrative office environment, high pressure, fast pace, multiple deadlines, people intensive, frequent public contact, occasional out-of-district travel, extended days, and operation of a non-commercial vehicle.

Bob Hope School is a growing open-enrollment public charter school (non-profit) providing parents a choice in their child's education. Bob Hope Elementary is a Montessori / Dual-Language campus. Instruction is conducted in a two-way immersion program, where teachers fluent in English teach ELA and those fluent in Spanish teach SLA and are supported by teacher aides with a strong command of both languages.
