Why This Role Exists
This role exists because Safespill is growing, production is expanding, and the machining team needs a strong technical resource who can improve programming, setups, and machining processes over time.
At Safespill, this position plays a key role in producing aluminum components used in environmentally safe fire protection systems for military and commercial aircraft hangars. This is not just a "post code and move on" programming role. It is a hands-on position focused on programming, setup support, process improvement, and helping the shop run cleaner, faster, and more consistently.
The Work You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
Program CNC milling and router jobs for Haas machines using Inventor CAM, Fusion 360, or Mastercam
Set up and support production on Haas VF10, Haas VF2, and Haas GR510 router platforms
Develop efficient and repeatable machining processes for 3-axis aluminum parts
Optimize toolpaths, tooling, workholding, and setups to improve cycle times and consistency
Troubleshoot machining and setup issues on the shop floor
Support process improvements that reduce wasted time and improve repeatability
Work closely with production to ensure parts are machined accurately and delivered on schedule
Serve as a technical resource in the shop through strong programming and setup knowledge
Maintain a clean, organized, and disciplined machining environment

4x Haas GR510 routers
Manual mill for occasional support work

Standard shop inspection tools as needed for setup verification and in-process checks

What We're Looking For
Strong CNC programming experience in a milling environment
Hands-on setup experience with CNC milling machines
Strong 3-axis machining experience
Experience machining aluminum parts
Comfortable programming and supporting Haas machines
Ability to improve processes, troubleshoot issues, and think critically
Strong understanding of tooling, setups, and machining efficiency
Organized, disciplined, and detail-oriented approach to shop work
Team-oriented mindset with low ego and willingness to support the broader operation
Experience with Inventor CAM, Fusion 360, or Mastercam
Experience programming large-format router or gantry-style machines
Background in a fast-paced production manufacturing environment
Strong process improvement mindset with the ability to refine workflows over time

Pay Range: $110,000 – $130,000 per year (DOE)
Four weeks of paid vacation, with additional weeks after two and four years of employment
