divh2Artemis Lunar Base Flight Software Development Engineer/h2pCACI is looking for an experienced Artemis Lunar Base Flight Software Development Engineer to support the Artemis Program at NASA Johnson Space Center with a goal of returning astronauts to the Moon and establishing a lunar base. This exciting software engineering position involves prototyping, requirements definition, design, development, test and verification, integration, and certification of Flight Software for NASAs lunar base, vehicles, and assets./ppThis position requires a self-motivated, capable person with strong verbal and written communication skills. In addition to outstanding technical expertise, the individual must be very people savvy, have strong customer relationship skills, possess a positive team-player attitude, be flexible and willing to take on new assignments and responsibilities as they arise. Finally, the most qualified candidate will be an articulate speaker able to communicate complex technical ideas in a convincing manner, must share our passion for our Nations Space Program, and share in the excitement of developing future human-rated space vehicles./ph3Responsibilities:/h3ulliDesign and develop Lunar Base Flight Software./liliPerform systems engineering in support of software requirements and interface definitions, design, and performance analysis./liliPerform software integration, test, and verification./liliIntegrate and test software/hardware in avionics test bed and flight certification environments./liliCollaborate with engineering teams and contractors across multiple NASA programs and projects./liliEnsure adherence to JSC standard software process practices./li/ulpThis work takes place at NASA/JSC in Houston, TX, a highly stimulating and dynamic environment that is critical in human space flight and the space exploration initiative./ph3Qualifications:/h3pRequired:/pulliMust be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident./liliB.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Software, Computer or Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines required./liliAt least five years of experience in software development for safety-critical software. Experience can be for aerospace vehicles or in other industries, e.g., oil and gas. More experience is highly valued./liliStrong C programming skills and experience with Linux./liliMust have experience in the entire software life cycle./liliMust be flexible, open to new challenges in a dynamic environment, and possess strong technical expertise combined with strong verbal and written communication skills./liliRequires the ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision./liliMust be a highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic./li/ulpDesired:/pulliM.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Software, Computer or Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline./liliExperience in human-rated space vehicles, e.g., Space Shuttle, Space Station, Orion, Commercial Crew, and in specific vehicle software domains (e.g., CT, CDH, GNC software)./liliC++ programming and Object-Oriented Design and Analysis (OOAD) skills./liliExperience in NASA Core Flight Software (CFS)./liliPython development skills./liliExperience developing embedded software for Real-time Operating Systems, preferably VxWorks./liliExperience in Time-Triggered Ethernet (TTE)./liliExperience in other bus communication protocols (e.g., 1553, RS-422, RS-232, USB, Ethernet)./liliExperience developing software interfacing with Data Acquisition (DAQ) I/O cards./liliExperience developing and troubleshooting device drivers./liliExperience in software and systems integration./liliExperience in automated testing./liliExperience in verification testing./liliExperience using GitLab and the Git version control system./liliExperience using Jira./li/ulpThis position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately.
