The General Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily operations at a construction site to ensure the completion of projects in a safe and timely manner.

Duties:

  • Lead and manage the on-site construction teams, including work schedules, project progress, and resource allocation
  • Serve as a liaison between customers, vendors, project managers, and other employees regarding current and future projects
  • Responsible for control of crew costs including effective use of manpower, work methods, and operation of equipment
  • Work with Project Superintendent to pre-plan work schedules and determine manpower levels, materials and equipment necessary for project productivity
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, materials, and equipment deliveries
  • Read specifications, such as blueprints to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures
  • Set and oversee production goals and daily production tracking.
  • Manage equipment and material resources efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize productivity
  • Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met
  • Conducts safety training of assigned personnel in accordance with safety training procedures
  • Investigates accident reports, damage claims, and may be a designated representative to settle minor damage or injury claims
  • Complete and submit daily to Superintendent the Foreman Daily Report
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 12 years' experience
  • Must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy
  • Must be able to assess through Burns and McDonnell assessment program

Must have a valid Driver's License.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, or reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, push and pull
  • Ability to use repetitive hand motions and the ability to grasp and operate field tools and equipment
  • Ability to climb on, in or through equipment in confined spaces and elevated work using fall protection harnesses.
  • Ability to work long hours with infrequent days off, night shifts, and in adverse climates.
