Sapphire Recruitment is seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler / TIG Welder for a hands-on role building custom industrial equipment. This is not a repetitive production welding job. It is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, print-reading ability, and troubleshooting skills who can think through layouts, solve problems in the shop, and help bring complex custom systems together. The Role (30% Welding / 70% Assembly and Integration): Precision Welding: Perform high-quality TIG and MIG welding, primarily on stainless steel. Mechanical Assembly: Fabricate, assemble, and integrate custom mechanical systems and industrial piping. Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret complex prints, 3D models, technical drawings, and work instructions. Fabrication and Layout: Lay out and fit piping, cut materials to length, and support copper piping and soldering work. Troubleshooting: Identify and fix mechanical or electrical fit-up and alignment issues when drawings or components require adjustment. Logistics and Field Support: Assist with assembly, alignment, testing, crating, and shipment preparation. Support equipment installation and service at customer sites as needed. Safety and Equipment: Operate shop and material handling equipment safely, including forklifts and overhead cranes. Qualifications: Experience: 3+ years of experience in welding, fabrication, mechanical assembly, millwright work, or related skilled trades. Technical Skills: Strong ability to read prints and visualize layouts for custom builds. Experience with TIG welding is required; MIG experience is also helpful. Certifications: AWS certified or certifiable; ASME B31.3 process piping experience is highly preferred. Adaptability: Comfortable working with custom equipment rather than repetitive production work. Travel: Willingness to work overtime and travel up to 25%, including occasional domestic or international travel. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Trade School candidates with solid foundational skills may also be considered. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
