Daily responsibilities will include but not be limited to draining motor oil, changing oil filters, changing filters, changing grease chassis fitting, inspecting and top off fluids, flushes, adjust tire pressure/tire rotation and washing windshields. Perform a variety of manual duties, usually working in our shop and transferring from one location to another or from one task to another, where demands require assistance of workmen with varied experience and ability to work without close supervision.
General requirements include practicing safety rules, following verbal and written instructions, safe use of hand & power tools, reporting to and assisting immediate, performing quality work as determined by project specifications, being accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift, working well as part of a team, ensuring safety, mobilizing and demobilizing equipment, maintaining equipment, serving as backup to other positions, lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 pounds daily, seldom over 50 pounds, grasping and manipulating various hand tools daily, standing for more than two hours at a time, as well twisting, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and stooping regularly, identifying/distinguishing colors and using manual dexterity and fine motor skills, communicating orally as well as ability to hear and understand, working and operating motorized equipment, working in an environment that is uncomfortable due to drafts, noise, temperature variation or similar discomforts, proofreading and checking documents for accuracy, using a keyboard to enter and transform words or data, complying with company's drug and alcohol abuse policy, passing physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by the company, able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc., stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.), getting assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director, working extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.), being clean shaven and able to work while wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment, when required.
Functional requirements include changing vehicle oil, checking the transmission fluid levels, inspecting various belts and filters, inspecting engine for leaks, checking air levels and gauges, installing new batteries, wiper blades and air filters, picking up and carrying various tools and materials as needed, performing other related duties as necessary.
Qualifications include one (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level).
