QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited four-year college or university in Nutrition, Dietetics or a related field.
Master's degree, in Nutrition, Public Health, or a related field, preferred.
Registered Dietitian, or RD eligible.
Experience with nutrition analysis software, NSLP software preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple assignments and meet deadlines essential.
Demonstrated strong work ethic and organizational
Sound judgment and decision-making
Knowledge of the NSLP and NSBP meal patterns and requirements.
Experience in menu planning following USDA guidelines for NSLP and NSBP preferred.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Annual Contract: 250 days
SALARY/PAY GRADE:
Minimum: $69,842 (BA-4)
Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Plan all district menus.
Evaluate all menus for compliance with USDA meal pattern guidelines.
Assemble ingredient labels and nutrient fact panels for food allergy and nutrient analysis purposes.
Coordinate with Nutrition Services Director and Assistant Director Nutrition Services, Customer Engagement on Administrative Review responses for menu compliance and nutrient analysis compliance.
Organize and run monthly menu planning meetings.
Communicate to school staff menu changes or substitutions.
Work with Assistant Director Nutrition Services, Customer Engagement to incorporate wellness plan goals into the district menu.
Routinely update database with nutrition fact labels.
Analyze and give feedback on recipes created and prepared by Executive Chef and food production staff to ensure compliance.
Assist with Nutrition Education as directed by the Assistant Director Nutrition Services, Customer Engagement.
Support the Nutrition Services Department with regular and reliable attendance.
Perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Nutrition Services.
Work with frequent interruptions, and maintain emotional control under stress. Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of a computer.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY:
All Nutrition Services employees must use good body mechanics and follow safe working procedures including infection control. The employee must report any unsafe condition to a manager or supervisor and demonstrate no on-the-job injuries due to lack of good safety practices. On-the-job accidents must be reported immediately to the manager or supervisor and an accident report completed.
