Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Logistics/Packing Clerk to join our team in Houston, Texas. This is a Long-term Contract position supporting the safe packaging, inspection, and preparation of sensitive equipment for shipment. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure materials are handled correctly, documentation is completed accurately, and all packing activities meet quality and regulatory expectations.Responsibilities:- Prepare specialized equipment and related components for shipment using engineered crating methods that protect delicate assemblies during transport.- Interpret packing instructions, technical drawings, and documented specifications to complete work accurately and efficiently.- Operate material-handling equipment and common shop tools to position, lift, and secure large or heavy items in a safe manner.- Conduct routine inspections throughout the packing process to confirm components meet defined standards before shipment.- Complete checklists, shipment records, and crate labeling with accuracy while meeting customer, export, and compliance requirements.- Review finished crates for structural soundness, completeness, and proper contents, and escalate any damage, defects, or shortages.- Maintain adherence to workplace quality procedures, operational protocols, and controlled-environment practices, including 7S expectations.- Partner with assembly, quality, and logistics personnel to coordinate final packing activities and assist with outbound truck loading as needed. Requirements - Previous experience in logistics, packing, shipping, receiving, or a related warehouse or manufacturing support role.- Ability to follow written work instructions, engineering drawings, and detailed packaging specifications with a high level of accuracy.- Experience using hand tools and material-handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hoists.- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify damaged materials, missing parts, or packaging issues before shipment.- Comfortable completing documentation, labels, and checklists in compliance with operational and regulatory standards.- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while coordinating with multiple departments.- Willingness to follow safety, security, cleanliness, and controlled-environment procedures consistently.
