Technician II

The Technician II will be responsible for the service and maintenance of Farouk Systems, Inc.'s manufacturing equipment, warehouse and production area, and other administration buildings.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and perform repairs on all types of industrial manufacturing equipment and machinery (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, robotic and mechanical).
  • Analyze, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment.
  • Work with equipment manufacturers and/or service technicians in troubleshooting, diagnosing and performing repairs on CNC, robotic electronics, and controllers (PLC, etc.)
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts, following specifications and blueprints.
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on production line systems, including safety equipment and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Install and repair electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, and document maintenance activities, and work performed.
  • Execute work orders and complete assigned projects while communicating effectively with staff, faculty, or management regarding status and completion.
  • Knowledge of ISO 22716 and 9001 Good manufacturing practice regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of packaging, mixing and blending equipment.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to independently troubleshoot problems, plan solutions, and read equipment manuals.
  • Proficiency in general maintenance processes, including electricity, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, plan solutions, and read equipment manuals.
  • Ability to understand and carry out routine written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to interact with others in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work standing and walking for the majority of the assigned work period.
  • Ability to bend, sit, squat, stand, crawl, walk and reach above shoulder.
  • Ability to exert 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25-50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10-20 pounds of force constantly.
