We handle a broad range of civil litigation matters and are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our team and support our attorneys and staff in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment.


Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and highly organized individual to provide comprehensive legal support to our litigation team.


Responsibilities


  • Work together with a team of attorneys and paralegals to manage and prepare cases for trial
  • Draft various pleadings, motions, stipulations and discovery
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
  • Conduct e-discovery
  • Participate in client interviews, witness preparation and other trial preparations
  • Conduct relevant research, data analysis, and draft legal memorandums for use in briefings
  • Draft formal written responses to discovery requests
  • Demonstrate advocacy skills and aptitude for learning new concepts and procedures
  • Manage discovery and trial deadlines
  • Handle and document communications with Courts


Qualifications


  • Preferred 2+ years of litigation experience
  • Experience with preparing/obtaining records, assembling exhibits and pleadings, summarizing transcripts, discovery, and trial preparation
  • Experience drafting and responding to standard discovery demands (interrogatories, requests for production, etc.)
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Outlook including Excel, WORD, and Outlook; experience with Relativity is a plus
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a strong understanding of litigation deadlines and calendaring rules
  • High attention to detail with ability to multitask
  • Strong communication skills
  • High sense of urgency with the ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professional demeanor and discretion in handling confidential matters
  • Willingness to travel within the US when necessary
  • Candidate must reside or relocate to Houston, TX and the role is 100% in-office
