Job Summary

We are seeking a Houston-based, client-facing SAP S/4HANA P2P (MM) Application Support Consultant with IS-Oil expertise to manage day-to-day support operations, BAU activities, and stakeholder communication in a live Oil & Gas environment.

The consultant will play a key role in incident management, user support, and coordination between onshore/offshore teams, ensuring seamless business operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Engagement & Communication

  • Act as a primary point of contact for business users and client stakeholders
  • Manage day-to-day communication with client teams, ensuring clarity and timely updates
  • Lead/participate in daily stand-ups, triage calls, and status meetings
  • Provide functional advisory and business-friendly solutions to client issues
  • Build strong relationships with business users and ensure high customer satisfaction


2. Application Support & BAU Operations (L2/L3)

  • Handle day-to-day incidents, service requests, and BAU activities
  • Ensure timely resolution of tickets within defined SLAs
  • Support end-to-end P2P processes (PR, PO, GR, Invoice, Vendor Management)
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures
  • Ensure business continuity with minimal disruption


3. Coordination with Onshore–Offshore Teams

  • Work closely with global delivery teams (onshore & offshore)
  • Coordinate task assignments, track progress, and ensure seamless handoffs across time zones
  • Act as a bridge between client and offshore teams for issue resolution
  • Ensure proper documentation, knowledge transfer, and collaboration


4. Incident, Problem & Change Management

  • Manage high-priority (P1/P2) incidents and escalations effectively
  • Participate in incident triage and problem management discussions
  • Support change requests (CRs), enhancements, and defect fixes
  • Follow and enforce ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)


5. IS-Oil & Gas Functional Support

  • Support industry-specific Oil & Gas procurement and logistics processes
  • Handle issues related to:
  • Hydrocarbon procurement
  • Bulk inventory & storage
  • Transportation and terminal operations
  • Ensure system processes align with industry standards and compliance


6. Enhancements & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
  • Prepare functional specifications (RICEFW) for enhancements
  • Drive efficiency and optimization in procurement operations


7. Testing & Release Support

  • Support SIT/UAT cycles and regression testing
  • Coordinate with teams for transport movement and release deployments
  • Validate fixes before production release


Required Skills & Qualifications

Functional Expertise

  • Strong experience in SAP S/4HANA MM – P2P Support (AMS environment)
  • Deep knowledge of procurement lifecycle:
  • PR → PO → GR → Invoice Verification
  • Inventory and Vendor Management
  • MM-FI integration


Industry Experience

  • Mandatory: IS-Oil / Oil & Gas domain experience
  • Understanding of energy sector supply chain and procurement processes


Support & Coordination Skills

  • Proven experience in:
  • Client-facing roles
  • Handling day-to-day incidents and BAU activities
  • Working with onshore/offshore delivery models
  • Experience with ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)


Technical Knowledge

  • Exposure to:
  • SAP Fiori applications
  • Interfaces (IDocs, APIs)
  • Basic debugging and coordination with ABAP teams


Soft Skills (Critical for this Role)

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong ownership and accountability mindset
  • Ability to handle pressure in a production support environment
  • Proactive and solution-oriented approach


Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP S/4HANA MM Certification
  • Experience with SAP Ariba (support/integration)
  • Exposure to global AMS delivery models


Work Model

  • Hybrid (Houston)
  • 2 days onsite (mandatory)
  • 3 days remote
  • Flexibility for on-call support / weekend releases (if required)
