The Learning Experience is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Director to join our team. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director to manage the day-to-day operations of our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for fostering a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Childcare Director in overseeing the daily operations of the childcare facility.
- Support the development and implementation of age-appropriate curricula and activities that promote children's growth and development.
- Supervise and support childcare staff, providing guidance and ensuring that best practices are followed.
- Ensure that all safety, health, and licensing regulations are met at all times.
- Serve as a key point of contact for parents, addressing concerns, providing feedback, and maintaining open communication.
- Assist in conducting staff performance reviews, providing coaching, and offering professional development opportunities.
- Monitor and maintain records of children's progress, activities, and any incidents that occur.
- Oversee the scheduling of staff and ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Participate in staff training and ensure that the team remains up-to-date with industry standards.
- Assist in the management of budgetary and financial operations, including supplies and resources.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred).
- 5 years of experience in childcare (with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferred).
- Knowledge of state licensing requirements and best practices in early childhood education.
- First Aid and CPR certification (required).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with staff, children, and parents.
- Passion for fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Background check clearance (required).
