Sr. Java Developer

Role Synopsis: The company's Credit Risk organization is a key business area for commercial growth and daily operation within company's Integrated Supply and Trading (IST). This role is integral to the Global Credit Risk IT team for project and DevOps deliveries. You would be involved in strategic and operational activities across our business located across various geographies. You are passionate about developing software solutions in a global team-focused environment. You will have the opportunity to work alongside a deeply diverse team on projects that inspire you to use your knowledge and skills in creative and innovative ways. Company is looking for someone who is energetic, enterprising and a self-starter, works autonomously, has a strategic view and exhibits leadership capabilities. You should be able to successfully prioritize, when faced with requests, demands and deadlines. Strong oral and written communication capabilities are required to successfully work within a global environment. You should display technical and analytical acumen required to deliver complex calculation engines. In this role, you will focus on designing and developing components that collect data from a multitude of source systems, implementing complex processes, advanced data management capabilities and developing Credit Risk analytical engines using Java based technologies.

Key Accountabilities:

• Expertise in Java design patterns, standardized development methodologies, and innovative solutions for analytical engines.
• End to end delivery from analysis and design through to testing and early life support.
• Conduct or participate in design, architecture and code reviews.
• Develop unit tests with appropriate code coverage placing a priority on code quality and strategic alignment.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Use standard methodologies for software delivery.
• Collaborate with global team members, external teams, and business users throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Identify and raise risks, issues, and dependencies as appropriate.
• Gather and document business requirements as needed.
• Manage builds and migrations between various staging environments assisting with release processes.
• Monitor and maintain application security and integrity.
• Tune and monitor application performance.
• Provide estimations and actively engage in the planning process.
• Communicate accurate status of efforts during daily stand-ups including blockers.
• Create or modify support documentation and conduct knowledge transition for project deliveries.

Essential Criteria:

• Functional knowledge of commodity trading and the deal lifecycle.
• Engage and collaborate with all levels of management in IT and the Business.
• Hands-on design and development experience with various technologies applied to strategic solutions in Java and Open source software.
• Practical development experience with the following technologies:
• Java, Spring, Grid Gain, Apache Ignite
• Multi-Threading
• RESTful Web services
• Kerberos on Java
• Windows security
• N-Tier solutions
• Oracle SQL
• TFS, Jenkins, GIT
• Distributed computing
• Experience with large-scale enterprise-wide IT environments containing multiple technologies, physical and logical environments.
• Participation and understanding of Agile delivery methodology.
• Experience with DevOps models and tools.

Desirable Criteria:

• Knowledge of the Credit Risk trading domain.
• Experience with Grid Computing solutions.
