Senior Windows Server Engineer

Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)(Locals Only)

Duration: 6+ months contract

Vendor's Note: This is a very senior Windows role, with some Architect skills.

Job Description: Provide Windows platform problem resolution including providing support for Windows related issues. Develop and implement best practices and engineering standards for Windows Server configuration and optimization and provide engineering support for Windows Servers. Knowledge and application of scripting and other PowerShell and programming languages that will support management and configuration of applications.

Testing prior to deployment to production

Development of and compliance with baselines

Deployment of security configurations, and

Patch management for both physical & virtual servers

Installs, configures, and maintains the organization's Systems and Alert Management applications.

Manages performance both software and hardware MSSQL Server

Verify and run scripts written by Technical Services in Production

System architecture and tiered application knowledge

Create and modify security groups:

Manage and troubleshoot of domain controllers

Manage and maintain of fileservers, services, and users

Monitor server performance, security related events and resolve their problems

Backing up and restoring data

Patching and updating

Design and support customer server infrastructure

Consult customer to implement improvements in their infrastructure

Help manage the ever-growing information needs our clients

Provides escalation for L2L3 infrastructure - troubleshooting support

Design, implementation, Migration and maintenance of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Group Policy, Clustering, Terminal Services, LDAP, and Windows scripting/automation

Win10, Win11 upgrade, in depth knowledge of SCCM (imaging and patch management), knowledge on Intune, exp w/ SCCM (imaging) and patch management.

Looking for a hands-on high-level engineer (almost architect level) but a do-er! Communication is very important as this person will be working with the business and other engineers within the IT department and taking part of discovery calls.

Knowledge of Active Directory, add/delete uses, GPO, etc. Experience with group policy (systems engineer experience
