In the role of Retail Stock and Customer Service Associate, you will play a vital part in executing our merchandising and inventory strategies within the Pet Care Center using our established processes. Your responsibilities will include stocking shelves, cleaning the store, managing the cash register, and ensuring our guests have a fantastic experience. Success in this role requires a passion for animal welfare and teamwork within the Pet Care Center.

Position Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage inventory throughout the Pet Care Center.
• Ensure merchandise is stocked, correctly priced, and presented attractively for our guests.
• Process register transactions effectively to enhance the guest experience.
• Exhibit proficiency in our sales model and assist guests as needed.
• Show a strong interest in animal welfare and adhere to animal care procedures.
• Complete training programs to maintain a high level of expertise in your role.
• Foster a positive culture of teamwork, inclusion, and collaboration.
• Follow operational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
• Address guest inquiries and refer to the Leader on Duty as necessary.

Basic Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (such as a GED) is required.
• Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in basic mathematics and possess strong communication skills.
• A professional appearance and demeanor are necessary, along with a genuine interest in caring for animals.
• Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with the public and colleagues.

Work Environment

This position primarily involves indoor tasks, although stocking, receiving merchandise, and assisting with carry-outs may require stepping outside briefly. The job necessitates bending, kneeling, moving merchandise (up to 50 pounds when necessary), and prolonged periods of standing, which may pose risk of injury if safety protocols are not followed. Availability for a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, is essential to support store needs.
