Specimen Processing Specialist – Houston, TX

We're looking for a detail-oriented, problem-solving professional to help ensure accurate and timely specimen processing for our clients and patients. In this role, you'll be the go-to expert for resolving sample-related issues, using advanced laboratory systems and clear communication to deliver exceptional service.
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm with occasional Mondays
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Serve as a liaison between LabCorp, clients, and patients
Research, troubleshoot, and resolve specimen and account issues
Communicate professionally via phone and email to clarify and confirm requirements
Ensure accurate specimen identification and handling
Perform administrative and clerical tasks to support department operations
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent; 1–2 years of experience preferred
Previous medical/lab or production experience is a plus
Comfortable handling biological specimens
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Basic computer and data entry skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to sit/stand for extended periods and pass a color blindness test
Flexibility to work overtime when needed
Proactive team player who takes initiative and is eager to learn and grow
