Rate: $27/hr
Duration: 12-months
Shift : Monday - Friday - 1st shift: 7am to 5:30pm (overtime as needed)

Overview:
As a Manual Machinist, you'll support Machine shop in running conventional (manual) lathes and or mill, holding tight tolerances meeting OEM requirements and specifications. Read and interprets blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements for the different products that optimize the extraction, production and processing of energy.

Key responsibilities:

• Supporting safety culture and driving a safe to start mindset.
• Operating special purpose equipment, conventional (lathe and/or mill).
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
• Starting and observing machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls as required.
• Selecting, aligning, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
• Reading and interpreting documents such as OEM drawings, REI's, Work Instructions, and Digital Routers.
• Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD & T). Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.

Preferred Qualifications :

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to operate Manual machines
• Experience on 3 and 4 jaw chucks
• Supporting Machine shop based on customer needs.
