In-Room Dining Order Taker

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking an In-Room Dining Order Taker to join the only double Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences. The In-Room Dining Order Taker will be responsible for taking guest orders through the phone and in-person as needed while possessing detailed knowledge of food and beverage items on the menu and upsell guest on additional items where appropriate.

Responsibilities:

• Be familiar with all standards of performance excellence and adhere to these standards throughout our guests' experience
• Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
• Ensure correct posting in POS system for communication to the service and kitchen department
• Help maintain cleanliness of work and guest areas by clearing, collecting and returning food and beverage items to proper area
• Complete closing duties, including restocking items, cleaning as needed, etc.
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets
• Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
• Be knowledgeable about The Post Oak and its services

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field
• 1-3 years of restaurant experience
• Ability to listen effectively, strong attention to detail a must
• Previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required
• Physical demands: Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
