Job Summary


Were recruiting a Phlebotomist 2 to support our growing donation centers. The successful candidate will maintain the highest standards of quality and safety while ensuring a positive donor experience.


Responsibilities



  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (FDA, OSHA, CLIA, GMP) and implement standard operating procedures.

  • Maintain high customer?service standards and a clean work environment.

  • Verify donor identification, ensure confidentiality, and manage donor safety throughout collections.

  • Setup and prepare equipment and disposables for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures; label units accurately.

  • Perform venipunctures and plasma collections, ensuring quality and safety.

  • Operate automated plasmapheresis machines, respond to alarms, document events, and perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance.

  • Monitor donor conditions and manage biohazard waste and contaminated equipment according to safety protocols.

  • Maintain and document machine logs, inventory supplies, and other necessary records accurately.

  • Report unsafe situations to management and partner with Quality Assurance on donor floor performance.

  • Mentor Phlebotomist I as a designated trainer, driving training efficiencies and compliance.

  • Perform troubleshooting of machine alarms/alerts and routine quality checks.

  • Participate in first?in?first?out inventory tasks and complete other job?related assignments as directed.


Qualifications



  • High school diploma or GED required; additional certifications or state licensure preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 months in a medical or health?care environment, or equivalent education/experience.

  • Completion of required training documentation before independent duties.

  • Strong customer?service skills and ability to follow written and verbal protocols.

  • Basic computer knowledge and documentation ability.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work daytime, evening, weekend, holiday, and extended shifts on a frequent basis.

  • Physical ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods and handle up to 35 pounds.

  • Experience with venipuncture and plasmapheresis is required.

  • Adherence to safety, confidentiality, and regulatory standards.


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift, bend, stoop, kneel, and pull up to 35 lbs.

  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of blood?borne pathogens.

  • Exposure to blood?borne pathogens and temperature extremes per SOP.

  • Use of assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication.
