Frazer, a leading builder of emergency medical vehicles, is currently seeking a Shop Helper to join our team. The Shop Helper - Fabrication at Frazer reports to the Fabrication Supervisor, and as a shop helper you will receive the necessary training to be able to navigate through the Deburr, PEM nut, Chop Saw, and Time Save work stations.
What Does a Week in the Life of the Shop Helper - Fabrication Look Like?
- Uses spreadsheets in conjunction with job travelers to identify necessary materials that need deburring, time-saving, chop sawing, or require PEM nuts, prioritizing tasks accordingly.
- Operates power tools to grind the edges or enclosures of machined materials, removing any sharp edges or deformities to make parts usable for production (deburr).
- Prepares and inspects the surface of machined aluminum parts using the time save machine/DA sander prior to paint application (time save).
- Utilizes a tape measure and operates a chop saw to cut various parts within the specified tolerance, following the print/drawing for each part (chop saw).
- Operates the PEM nut machine to ensure the correct size PEM nuts are inserted in the specified locations on the drawings/blueprints for each part (PEM nut).
- Ensures the correct jobs are processed by using job travelers to confirm that the fabrication job number, item number, and part count match.
- Inspects all parts and report any discrepancies or deformities in the material.
- Labels and transport all material and corresponding job travelers to the next work center upon job completion.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment throughout the day.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor/lead.
- Completes forklift certification through the company.

Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Prior use of air tools and measuring instruments is preferred.
- Must be able to work as part of a team and independently.
- Must be able to pass a post-offer drug screen.

Oh, and $alary
Of course, we didn't forget salary... Frazer offers competitive pay and this role will start with a salary between $18.00-$22.00 per hour depending on education, certifications, and experience.
